I just moved my website from ipage to justhost.. I brought my hosting account back in jan of this year. I have tried to host 3 websites with them and it did not workout very well! Their server load time is really slow and I could not host any of my joomla sites because their mysql database is to old.. I requested a refund and now they want to charge me $35 for me canceling my service.. Please be aware and stay away from them!!

Similar fees are charged by other Endurance International Group owned hosted (e.g. Startlogic).

That is horrible.

I haven't had a hitch with <removed> thankfully. Some of those hosts should be taken off the market.

Hmm. Such stories always have 2 sides. And I would love to hear another side here.

The other side? There is not acceptable other side for iPage. They want to charge someone $35 for canceling service? That is ludicrous!

<removed> has and will never do that to me and I can say that most other hosts won't either. Charging a fee like that is a crime!

Plus <removed> has way better VPS packages than iPage by a mile and offers better customer service.

From their site it says anytime money back guarantee and if within the first 30 days a full refund. So, what is the reason they said for charging you the $35?

Thats odd that they are charging you $35. You can probably get it back through paypal/visa.

PayPal do not send money back or chargebacks for the services.

Maybe they have it in their TOS?

I do not know for sure regarding this certain issue but I assume 90% of newcomers DO NOT read them at all.

Just a small question here. Why did you moved from justhost at first?

iPage is discussed among the best in the web hosting industry. I am surprised to read that.

That is awful. Definitely chargeback the unauthorized charges.

what!!?? really? I haven't had a problem with it till now but I'm kinda worried about it now.

Ya their server load is to high, i have three sites with them. I repeatedly complained about site loading too slow and they changed my account to other server. Its working fine now.

Out of curiosity, did you let them know that you were having these problems? Were they unable to resolve them, or did you just not give them a chance?
