Recently we have had a discussion among our directory editors arguing how should customers distinguish a good hosts that is not very popular from host wich do not provide reliable service. As you can guess we did not invented the wheel but here are a few advices.
1. Contact them by e-mail before sign up. This way you will be able to test their response time.
2. Check if they offer other way to contact them besides a contact form or e-mail. If not it is better idea no to sign up.
3. Check company's business history. It is better to sign up with well established providers
4. Ask if they are incorporated business. If you are unable to define their status it is probably a good idea not to sign up. Hosts that does not have legal precense can go away whenever they want.
5. Compare their prices to other offers. Price have to be reasonable. Not to high and not to low!
