I think this top 10 web hosting "ranking" is kind of ridiculous. One's trash host could be another's holy grail. That is why I always tell friends and family to use a service before they trash it.

The experience you get from using a service is more valuable than other's ranking or opinions.

Haha, he probably thinks the domain name is a good one that is why he trusts it. I would take what they say with a grain of salt. I know which hosts are good and that is why I use them. The bad ones get thrown out like there is no tomorrow.

Exactly. I wish more people were aware of the dirty gimmicks the hosting industry does to get customers.

Top Ten lists are nothing but paid advertising. They do not accurately reflect quality of service or support, but rather reflect the companies who have the most money to spend on being in that list.

There are very few personally funded, no advertisements, trustworthy review sites on the web.

As many people above have states, web hosting ranking websites tend not to be the most reliable - often times they rank companies based on who pays them the most. If you are looking for honest reviews of hosting providers, your best bet is to search popular forums

Webhostingtalk.com , plain and simple. Vast amount of VERIFIED reviews, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I would never trust a review that I found on Google, unless the site itself made it clear that it was in fact a honest review site (with some sort of proof or explanation about verifying reviews, etc).

Out of the few webmaster/webhosting oriented forums I frequent, WHT is the only one that I know that takes the necessary steps to prevent shill posting, fake reviews, stop scammers and have banned the advertising of "unlimited" services.

Yes, that is a great recommendation. WHT is probably one of the best forums to search reviews on because all reviews are verified by the moderators

haven't used webhosting talk yet. is it affordable?
