Hi,
What do you think of Hostrocket Reseller Plan? Please provide your feedbacks if you have tried their service before. Their plan is just $7.99 per month if I sign up for the one year plan. Any other cheap but reliable reseller web hosting plan that you recommend?

I'd be weary of using a "unlimited" reseller hosting plan - especially one at that price

I do not think price will tell you a lot about their services. But if they offer moneyback guarantee I think that worth to give them a test go.

As XeHSean said it's a very good idea to stay away from unlimited hosting especially when reseller hosting as it will put your business and customers websites at risk.

Jack

At that price point you can expect to share the server with 100-200, possibly even more accounts. That's really the service you'll be buying.

A) It is "unlimited" which really just means unreliable and oversold.
B) The price is very low, which means that the server would have to be overloaded tremendously.
C) They seem to be a pretty small organization, especially since their WHMCS is not integrated into their design.
Overall I would suggest you to look elsewhere.

I have never heard of them and their hosting. According to the whois information - they are not new web hosting provider at all. That means that you can do th search for the business name of them to find out more information

I don't know about their size these days, but they used to be of a respectable size back in 2004 or so. They were rather popular back then too.

Think about how many accounts they would need to host on even an average dedicated to break even, not even make profit, at that pricing. Now think about how many accounts those accounts are probably hosting. That should make you wonder quite a bit about their service

There is no true unlimited hosting - it is simply impossible

Definitely look for a money back trial deal because it is an unknown host. I took advantage of my current host's 30 day money back trial and it worked out great.
Also the unlimited label seems misleading. Price looks average at best. My suggestion is to look else where.

If you pay through paypal or 2CO you as a customer will be able to issue chargeback as well.

I wouldn't recommend issuing a chargeback against your provider - they can send your information to the Natural Chargeback Database which could hurt your credit score

Unless you pay by card, Paypal is unlikely to give you your money back. They have no buyer protection on services, and hosting is a service.

This is very true. If you read Paypal's dispute policy, they only allow you to dispute tangible goods. Online services are not eligible to be disputed.

With Paypal you would need to use your credit card to do the chargeback. In most cases, you will lose the Paypal dispute if you open a case. The host will show their TOS which says nothing about a 30 day trial period and you'll be stuck.
Just be safe and find a good host that has a 15 day or even 30 day money back deal like I did.

30 day (or other) money back guarantee - is about REFUND.
Charge back issues when web host do not provide you what was promised and refuse make refund
