Shared hosting that allows you to "share"

I was wondering if anyone knew of any web hosts that allow you to share or even resell your hosting. I am not talking about reseller hosting as I wouldn't need cPanel or Billing software. I am just looking for shared hosting that allows me to also host websites for others and even if I wish charge them.
So far I know that IX Hosting and Hosting Excellence (sister companies) allow it. But does anyone know of any other company that does too?
Thanks in advanced!

I should imagine that any that allow it are totally overloaded and not worth using.

lol
well by no means am i looking for one of those "unlimited" hosting companies I'm trying to find somewhere that has set limits on both disk space and bandwidth yet gives you the freedom to choose how to use it. As I want to have some sites on there that don't belong to me.
I'm trying to avoid oversellers lol

IXwebhosting and Hostexcellence are using the Hsphere control panel. Other hosts that do the same might give you similar capabilities. (Some that come to mind are cartika, jodohost, fluidhosting).
That being said, what you should really go for is reseller hosting, regardless of the control panel used. After all, you can find very good reseller hosting starting at $15-20, which isn't much more expensive than shared hosting.

Thanks for the suggestions.
The thing is I'm not really looking for a "reseller" solution. Or any type of capabilities offered by the hosting company, just the legal clearance from the company.
Hosting companies such as HostGator allow you to host websites for friends on the condition that you do not charge them. While what I am looking for is a hosting company that legally allows me to host things for other people and for me to be able to charge them if I feel like it.
I'm not in need of any control panel, or billing software as I would just be hosting a few pages for people I know. If I were to use those I would just sign up for a reseller account. Hope that clarifies my question. Thanks

You don't have to SELL accounts on a reseller account. A reseller account simply gives you more flexbility.
We set up clients as resellers if they have several hostnames to manage.

I apologize, but it looks like to are posting in favor of those web hosts mentined above. The Shared HOsting is well-defined as a technology concept and "Yes" you can share any shared hosting account with any provider with other people. You just need to give them access to this account.
When it comes to a Reseller Administration, then you need a Reseller Hosting account.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with hosting a friends website on your account. However, if something goes wrong with either yours or your friends website that would be down to you as you own the account.
However, if you are thinking about reselling space from your shared account that is a problem.
Regards,
Jack

Well I don't really need any of the reselling technology, nor would they. As I would be the only one who has access to it. They aren't very tech savvy so I would be the only one doing anything. It would just be an additional domain, so again I don't see the reason in a reseller account, though chrishirst I would say that reseller accounts so far seem to be the ones that don't oversell (or at least as much) their space/bandwidth.
Also, no I'm not in favor of those two companies, they are just the only two that showed up in google searches that allow you to do this. But they are clear over sellers and don't want to sign up with them.
By the way thanks you guys on the suggestions and replies.

A Reseller account is what you need if you want to manage several sites. Don't worry about what it's called, all it is is a system that allows you to set up and control multiple web sites with their own domain, stats, email etc.
This type of account will give you the flexibility you'll need. You can charge for hosting or give it away free, that's up to you, many folks have reseller accounts just for their own sites, others will use them to host clients sites.
See ldcdc's WHReviews site be cause it lists some of the better hosts out there

Thanks.
I guess I will probably end up getting a reseller account, or maybe just invest in my own server.

Good choice. I'd recommend a reseller as its alot cheaper (you dont have to pay for licenses then) and you can always move to a vps latter.

You have only permission here to do those things and that is not enough at all. I think the people which you are going to share your web hosting services to will be interested in getting something like control panel. I wonder what will you do in this case then.

Any shared hosting plan can do what you are looking to do. I know when I had my shared hosting plan with my current host, they gave unlimited subdomains and I could have easily created multiple "partitions" so that I could give space and bandwidth away to "clients" if needed.
Then I could have easily parked a domain on top of any of the created subdomains.
That said, it is probably a better idea to go reseller or VPS reseller and get the full flexibility. You'll probably want the fast VPS speeds if you are going to resell a lot.

I believe most shared web hosting services do not allow to resell shared web hosting.

cantletugo and pbr_201 actually most web hosting companies prohibit this, but not all. If you would have read the original post I named two that allow it, per their FAQs and Terms of Use. These companies though, do not provide reseller services. But, usually when a company does (like Host Gator) for instance they disallow this.
cantletugo by sharing an account without the approval of the hosting company you can end up haivng your account suspended, also if you use up too much of their resources on those "unlimited" plans.
Also, WebhostGIANT-Rob, I am the only one that would use the administration. My friend wouldn't need access to this.

I don't know what host you use but my host gives me unlimited subdomains to create as many partitions as I need. I don't see why any other host would prohibit you from creating subdomains and using the allotted space and bandwidth you are given.

You can host other sites on your hosting package using the "Addon Domains" feature. Essentially, you can have another domain operate out of a folder in your account
