Is a cheap hosting co. all that???

Not at least the hosting Co. that I am using.

I have two sites w/m6.net and we are always having outages. They had a DOS attack 10 days ago and my both sites are still down. Furthermore, everytime I want to view stats, the server is so sssllllloooowwww. Feb is renewal, I'm going elsewhere.

I have another site w/omnis.com for over three years and am pleased as punch. Why did I leave. My assoc. thought price was an important factor and they did not support PHP.

So I'm shopping, tell me about what you like about your hosting co.

thx

Hi,
I offer cheap and reliable webhosting. Many people say things like "ohh its impossible to provide hosting at the prices that you do" etc. but it isn't impossible and I do, so far I have never had any problems at all.
I currently offer 3 hosting packages as shown on my website, however I can also create custom packages depending on how much webspace and B/W is needed. please contact me: support@zeeble.com for more details.

Sharon, I'm sorry to hear about your experiences. 95% of the time, cheap hosts usually result in poor quality. Before signing up with ANY host, be sure to do your homework. Here are somethings you can do:
1.) Make sure there is a money back garuntee, that way if your unhappy, you can leave with nothing lost.
2.) Don't go for hosts that offer you everything for less then $5/month. Any reliable host can't survive on this unless they are reselling for another company or overstuffing their servers
3.) Find a few hosts you like and send them all a support request. Check their response time and determine how knowledgable they are.
4.) Make sure you read their Terms of Service agreement. Many hosts hide things in there. If there is anything you don't understand, ask them about it.
5.) Remember... if it sounds too good to be true. It is. You will get what you pay for.

Good luck in your search for a new host. If you need any help, please feel free to contact me.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. there is a guy from m6.net called pryanka. He spends a lot of time to flood forums with meaningless posts. Maybe he has just forgotten to check if the servers are down or not I can suggest a few companies... but I might not post them here.

It is definitely one of the companies that I would avoid. Not because I own a hosting company, it is just all this "join the many thousands of people" thing in his signatures that seems very suspicious.

This guy has been banned from some forums. I think if he is a member here, should be banned as well.

BTW 10 days of downtime and you're still hosting with them??? Maybe you need to change immediately and ask for a full refund (unless they have a naughty ToS)

I use jiffynet.net and have for over 2 years now. As long as they are around I will not choose anyone else for my hosting needs. And yes, they have survived for years on $5 dollars a month (they are in canada so this is worth a bit more to them).

Wished that I would have found this board years ago. Thanks for all of your help!

Anacrusis, Great tips! I am sending support request to two co.'s and we'll see how they do.

Anyone have experience w/Omnis or Hostony?

They are both overselling, but they seem to be doing it responsibly.
I've heard good things about Omnis and have read mixed reviews on Hostony. At first glance, I would personally choose Omnis.
