I have a question to the people which use shared web hosting service. What do you chose once it is right time to move to another hosting solution? Is that bigger shared web hosting account or VPS, dedicated server?

Surely depends on how big you are currently and how well the growth is. In most cases if you just started out you'll be on the shared hosting plan and then once you grow to a substantial number, you'll get a VPS.

In most cases, you will stay at VPS unless your site becomes HUGE. Once it becomes HUGE, I am sure you should have the means financially to get a dedicated server.

Typically people will upgrade from shared hosting to semi-private hosting or a VPS

Most people used to upgrade to Reseller account or VPS. But we have Cloud hosting service now and many owners of high traffic websites move to cloud computing service.

I don't see the money incentive of moving from shared hosting right to a dedicated server or even cloud hosting. It just is too big of a jump.

You have to take some incremental steps and VPS should be the next step. That is how I did it.

VPS are great, Unless you do a lot of IO.

I personally will never use a VPS just because i work for a company that sells 1000's of them and i know they can be a pain ( some of our internal systems run on them )

Id take a dedicated any day, And i do.

You are welcome. I believe each customer and user has his own approach to this and we can do nothing about this.

Most of all an important factor is limitations on bandwidth, or if you hosting plan offers limitations on the number of sites you can have, you take a hosting plan that gives you more opportunities.

And limitations on the CPU and bandwidth usage. That is very important. Always read TOS and AUP. That is very important.
