Hello
I am pretty confused on this,i know nothing about dedicated hosting and presently using shared hosting ...of 1gb space of which i am using just 200mb..

I am not happy with the response time of my website..it takes too long to open up...do you think is it due to shared hosting...as server has to serve lot of others too...I have all the pages about 15K size and one flash header of 70K which will load once when the index page opens isnt it?

but it takes too much time...i have seen website bigger in size then my pages...they just load infraction of seconds....

Should i buy dedicated hosting....I know nothing about this....i tried to read about this on different websites....they give so much space on dedicated hosting....i think that would be wasted ....as i wont be able to use it....

What do you suggest....should i change host....any fast shared host you suggest....or any other solution...

i know nothing about running server...i just know how to work out for my website in cpanel of shared hosting

With Regards
Jamie

What type of website and if possible post your link. but if your only using 200 mb u should load fast but it all depends on how many sites are on that server if your not getting enough traffic your gonna go down the list i had the same problem with one of my host we were extremly slow in loading but a large site, then i switched host a good friend of mine and only a few sites he runs for now and wow what a difference!!

You wouldnt need a dedicated server just for 200Mb of space. Its to do with your host, not the plan your using. Try looking around for another host which gets good reviews for speed.

Have you thought about the flash theme being too big to download fast?

If http://www.mytutoronline.com/ is the site in question, I'd say that your site loads ok. It is just the flash header that takes a while to download. If it is that slow for you, then you might consider any problems faced by your ISP.

Also I tried to open the site from Greece.

The site sounds fine. It must be the host or you are lots of hops away from the server and this is slowing it down.

Some host just keep cramming shared accounts on to servers and take little time to think about how the load is effected. Our shared servers are "full" when the load average reaches a set number. The number of accounts per box is not a factor. In theory, one server may be full with just 2 accounts, while another may be able to handle several hundred.

I'd change your host.

Good luck!

Andrew
