I need a server to strictly host a bunch of video files, for my main website. It requires no php/mysql or anything of that sort. I need at least 2GB of space, and 100GB+ of bandwidth, and an ability to add a domain.

No website will be hosted, it will just be used as a media server.

That is because it is too good to be true, at that price they are overselling massivly.

The problem with trying to find hosting that gives that much space and bandwidth is as soon as you start to use it they will change thier TOS and tell you to either pay the overage or get out. Like ZeebleHosting had mentioned, they are overselling massively. It's just a ploy to get people to sign up, most of which will hardly use a gig of bandwidth per month.

That is why a dedicated server is your best bet.

You will not get that much bandwidth ( or even disk space) on a shared hosting account. I don't care what the company says.

You WILL need either a VPS server or a small dedicated. There is no way around it.

Im currently paying $25 for 5GB space and 120Gb transfer, to a friend who owns the server. I suppose thats a good deal. Looks like I should just double what Im paying him and be happy.

A VPS is a server on a server.

Your friend is giving you a good deal plus you know him and hopefully trust him
