I have two questions for everyone, if i may.
First, my current situation. I have an ecommerce site on my linux dedicated server. I have a blog and soon will be having a video platform/portal with self hosted videos.
I am considering either moving to vps or cloud hosting but am not sure in what direction to go.
I have had a lot of trouble with my current UK2 dedicated server, i lost a very important backup because of corrupt drives and my site was down for 5 days or so.
Second,
vps and cloud hosting seems cheaper in the U.S, would it be possible to have vps or cloud hosting in the US but with UK ip addresses?

I believe that you should choose stable VPS or dedicated servers (depends on your disk space and bandwidth requirements).
Google search will help you to find all possible options - compare them and choose the best one.

Hi, Cloud hosting is a great example to host your resources because in cloud hosting you have to pay only for the required services and cloud never lets your web business down because a cloud server is grouped and connected to other server network which are used to decide load over other servers and maintains availability of a website.

I suppose that you can try to do a search on UK web hosts and then find the one that is offering cloud hosting solutions.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting UK based IP addresses. The search engines are aware that the majority of data centers are in the US so I would be surprised if they used the location of the server as part of their ranking algorithm.

As with anything SEO related only Google themselves know for sure so that's just my opinion

Maybe you don't really need a UK IP address? If your domain is .uk, then any search engine can determine where the audience is likely located. Second, when it comes to Google, you can use their webmaster tools to set your desired geographical website "location".

As far as i know, many hosting provider deliever ip adresses in random, like GoDaddy and DreamHost. If you want extra ip or have special requirements on it, you'd better call them and check, buy a ip maybe possible.

The ccTLD of the domain is used in geo-targeting primarily, with the IP only being used for gTLDs.

I believe that the best way know is to contact the hosting provider you are going to choose and see what IP-address they will offer for you.

I would most definitely go with the VPS or dedicated options with a UK IP address. It is a more effective option in your case and dare I say a much more cost advantaged method.

When selecting cheap website hosting, be sure that the web host provider is trustworthy. Try to ask around people about their perceptions on the web host company.

I would recommend you to try narrowing your list of options by looking at the cheapest web host package that can meet your needs at the same time.

I use rackspace vps (one in the dallas DC and one in the Chicago DC). They just opened one in the UK this month: http://www.rackspace.co.uk/cloud-hos...ervers/prices/ The 256MB ram image is very cheap and works great if you have simple needs like a name server or email relay server etc.

Try to do a search on all possible places in UK and then read other clients' or customers' testimonials.

I thing good option for you is VPS hosting. It is helpful for your site.

You know VPS can be a good option for you.. the thing is that it is not so easy to find a company with stable servers.

I think that it is high time to choose the best host..
