Choosing a host

Hi everyone. I hope this is the right place to post this.
I need to find a reliable host for my new website.
My newbsite is currently operating in a subfolder of my current website and all i would like to do is give it its own domain name and distance it from my current provider.
Can all who are interested in helping me tell me:
1. The name of your host (with a link if possible)
2. The best thing about your host
3. The worst thing about your host
4. If you were to set up another website would you stick to the same host or find a new one?
Thanks everyone.
(Just for your info, the website is my own blog)

If your current webhost is good, and the service is good to, there is no point in chosing another, and ask your host is you can have parked domains, so you can have more than 1 domain on the same account.
Hope it helps.
Regards

Well thats what i would like to do, but...
I want to create a large distance between the two sites. I don't want them to have any relationship with each other whatsoever, not by domain name, not by ip, not by host provider etc.
Because it is a blog, i would like to make it personal and there may be things that i would say that would reflect poorly on the proffessional image of my main site.
Thanks for the advice though.

Thanks for the offer. I'll get back to you.
But for now, what i really want are people's opinions with regards to their current hosts.

My hosting is great because I own it
But really if your site is ok I don't see any problem to spend more money, then
again if one provider is down you have the other site online on the other provider

Well, the real test is the one that stands time and two years down the line i can safely advise anyone/everyone NOT TO HOST THEIR SITE WITH EASDESIGN. If anyone wants the miserable details of our experience, let me know and i will tell you.

The technical problems which we experienced with them can be read on http://www.webmaster-talk.com/web-ho...ult-is-it.html
But the real problem is the way in which they are dealing with the situation. I really don't want to spend time knocking anyone off, but their attitude to the situation has been appalling and their insistence that these problems are our fault and that we should have to pay for them is unnaceptable.
My staff have made mistakes in the past and, upon recognition, we have voluntarily contacted the customers affected, notified them of the error, apologised and offered compensation. Similarly, errors reported by customers have been handled the same way. Even recently, a customer made an error and we agreed to meet with them half way with a 50% refund in the name of "customer satisfaction" even though the error was their fault and they were required to make two confirmations before proceeding and that this refund was at a loss to us.
If only this company were willing to change their stance, accept their error and zip up our content and email it over, there would be no need for me to be publicising my discontent. But they themselves said they would prefer "an angry customer with all of its consequences". Fortunately, i don't have the time (and prefer not) to go around on every forum complaint site etc. to publicise my anger/dissatisfaction, but i do feel the responsibility to at least complete these thread and report back how our experience with EAS went.

Hi, fambi, I've read your story, have you settled already somewhere? It seems like you have lots of sites, which makes slightly difiicult moving servers.

Unfortunately, we are still struggling to get our content given back to us from the host. Even then, this experience is bad enough to put us off hosting any site anywhere other than that with which we have had a good experience already.

To all readers of this thread... i am not looking for a new host. I am simply letting you know (two years later) how my experience went. Please do not make any offers here as they will be ignored.
