What Type Hosting That Can Handle 100 Blogs?

I just want to build about 100 blogs (wordpress) and let say that I can get each of this blog 2000 unique visitor a month (100 blogs x 2000 UV a month = 200.000 UV/month). My question is what type of hosting that can handle this blogs/traffics? can shared hosting handle this and what shared hosting did you use? if not, how about VPS, can VPS handle this? if yes, what VPS hosting you have experienced? I dont know about dedicated, but for now VPS is what I think for this project.
Please give me your experience or your opinion?

Who knows?
A guess of the "unique visitors" per month isn't something that can be used to calculate server usage.

I suppose that dedicated server hosting package will handle all this..
But before to make any final decision, contact the company's support, tell your specific needs and see what they cab offer you.

Hi cecilio,
I would recommend you take a look at a quality reseller, shared hosting can definitely handle this, if it is not oversold. You just need to avoid the silly offers and unlimited packages. You can upgrade when the blogs are busy/resource intensive to a VPS or similar when required.
Best of luck!

Shared hosting will not work for this, of course dedicated server hosting is best for your requirement, VPS even can’t handle this much domain and traffic, so I would suggest you to go for dedicated server for better hosting.

My guess is between VPS and Dedicated server. Depending on if you are getting good revenue go with dedi, if not go with VPS. VPS with decent RAM and CPU can handle this easily. just my 2 cents.

The key point is here, these are new blogs. Would this be correct cecilio?
Traffic to these websites will not be at 200k unique visitors per month, and it will likely not be a consistent 200k every month. If you anticipate all the blogs to be anywhere near to 15-20k total per month I would recommend a large VPS (2GB/4GB MEM+), anything higher than 75k a dedicated. But as I pointed out earlier these are new blogs so I still recommend a reseller until you start to receiving inbound traffic. I would contact a number of providers with your requirements, remember that Wordpress uses MySQL database. Many providers will not allow you 15-20k of unique visitors per month in a shared environment unless you pay top dollar.
Regards,

Judging by the anwers (and the signature links) for people supposedly representing hosting companies, you are demonstrating a serious lack of knowledge about hosting!!!!
Shared hosting:
Very unlikely that a shared hosting account will allow for the creation of a hundred domain names.
With a VPS or a dedicated server it is up to you what you run on it and how many domain names you have.

You'll definitely need to be looking at a VPS or dedicated server.
I'm with chrishirst on this one. Oversold or not you're not going to find a shared host that will allow 100 Wordpress blogs on 1 account. That would be a very quick way to go out of business for any web host no matter how large or small.
Whether the server is oversold or not makes no difference as the issues that will cause occur are the HTTP requests, concurrent connections, CPU etc

I assume that Dedicated Server Hosting Package will meet your needs and you will have more privileges and advantages than with VPS.

I've found sharkspace to be good and have personally used them for 2 years for my blog hosting and they don't oversell on their servers. No phone support is the only downfall, but they have a ticket window and live chat and are quick to reply.

With shared hosting you are sharing the server resources, the service generally isn't meant for 100 blogs on a single account. In most cases to do so would use a dis-proportionate amount of the server resources and cause you to receive an email from your provider encouraging you to upgrade.
A VPS may work, depending on the amount of guaranteed resources that are included.
A dedicated server definitely would work for you, though.

as long as you using light template for your blogs, it think VPS can handle it, default templates and without java and jquery, text only.

All depends on the company you are using hosting services from. A VPS seems good for handling 100 blogs.

I believe that you need to contact your current host directly and open a ticket asking about the hosting solution you need to choose.

That is about 6.5k UV a day ...
I would say a small VPS would be good. However, if you optimize the sites and use wp cache then some shared web host should be able to support your site.

You can also take a look at virtual servers.
