I was looking to pay month by month at a reasonable price. It seems Godaddy has the best month to month price (without paying for the whole year) but I dont want to use them. I prefer hosting this site with another company. Im not sure how long Im going to have the site so I dont want a 12 month plan.

I believe you do not need any suggestion at the moment. You are absolutely right and have correct approach to the web hosting company billing cycle.
The choice of the company is your business.

Good choice to avoid Godaddy's hosting service. They are cheap but there's many high quality web hosts that have similar pricing structures and allow you to pay on a per month basis.

If you avoid the "unlimited" hosts and know roughly how much resources you need you'll be able to find a quality provider.

There are plenty of hosts that offer month-to-month payments that have reasonable rates, however you usually do receive a better rate when paying annually.

Yes I looked at many hosting companies....most of them are around $8 - $10 for month to month...and $4 - $6 for annual plans. Godaddy is the only one that is $4.95 a month without a annual plan.

Godaddy, is not too reliable as a web host but as domain registrar they are good.

I bet you are able to find the offers for lower price at other companies who will be more reliable than godaddy.

Having used their service, I found their uptime to be decent (99.91% over a period of almost 2 years), but their server's speed wasn't up to par. Scripts that took a fraction of a second to run at other hosts, took 2+ seconds to run on their server.

As far as I know, there's no shortage of hosts willing to bill monthly. The bigger hosts though prefer yearly+ payments. Offers (and sometimes discounts) from smaller hosts, some quite reputable, can be found in the offers subforum at webhostingtalk.com.

may be you can choose fatcow. although they're yearly paid service but you can receive up to 60% discount which is pretty cheap.

Their plans are not costly but reliable. And many resources are included in their packages.

I bought/registered today a domain to GoDaddy (an info domain for a whole year is about 2 dollars ...)

Then I went here to "1dollar- ..." (I cannot post now the link because I don't have 10 posts here ... I also cannot create a thread with the name of that site .. maybe someone will open a thread, to discuss there) ... well you know the site with 1 $ per month...

I made the modifications (nameservers) to GoDaddy ...

The site and cPanel worked for 2 minutes .. only 2 minutes ! ...
What is this ? .. This site is a fraud ? ..

I believe the fact that the GoDaddy domain is cheap has absolutely nothing to do with this ...
The problem is to "1dollar-..." servers ... I think ...

And I don't know if this problem is often to them ...

The main difference between those 2 cheap things (domain and host) would be this (in my opinion): I have bought the cheap thing from GoDaddy (the domain) and there it is .. it should be working anywhere ...
But with the host it's not at all the same thing .. you depend every second on it ...

Why not trying happy-hosting or godaddy, for example, their services are cheap.
All in all have you, the OP, already signed up with any company or are you still looking for it?

I think, you should not switch to any other hosting company as your existing contractor is providing the good services including the economical prices as you have mentioned in your ticket.

I suggest you to keep enjoying the services with your current contractor and apprise your contractor about any complaints if you have so that they could improve the services to you.

GD is horrible with speeds and service. Glad the OP decided against them.
A month to month bill is a smart idea. Not locking yourself into a contract when you aren't sure is smart.
