Good Morning. I have a Web Hosting Forum running vBulletin that has been hacked: www.HostBoards.com
Any advice on how to repair and prevent this in the future would be appreciated.

Has anyone heard of this group, V!RuS_BaGhDaD? Is this just kids having fun?

Thank you

Restore your database from a backup and check your files for any malicious/suspicious code.

It's the developers of vBulletin that should fix any vulnerabilities in their script. ( maybe review add-ons you've installed ) You should complain at their support forum,

Are you running your forum on a dedicated server? If you are running it on a shared hosting set-up, you might check with (or at least inform) your server provider. Chances are they hacked more than just your forum.

You probably were using an old version of VBulletin. Older versions always have loopholes and exploits which anyone with even limited knowledge can use to wreak havoc.

Make sure you update to the newest version in the future to avoid this.

Remove the index.php and replace it with ur original, only a small hack i guess. I think it has been Mysql injected, but i though vb is safer o.O.

Also is it nulled vb ?

It was most likely a nulled version of VBulletin. When you don't have the latest update this is what happens. You need to license VBulletin to get all of the security patches.

Nulled versions of VBulletin are notorious for having the mySQL injection exploit done. Don't cheap out and you'll have a forum that won't get exploited.
