I am interested in purchasing this plan:
http://www.startlogic.com/prologic.html

Bit expensive since you have to pay a full year ahead (70,5)
Well not really expensive but i just hate paying ahead for something.
Well you can go for 3 months but then they moreless charge you the same

Anybody any experience with startlogic they get great reviews on:
<link removed>

If you know of anybody keeping check of uptimes of their company it would be grately apreciated

They don't seem bad, they are overselling a bit. I personally havn't heard anything about them. Try calling their phone number and submitting a ticket and ask them some basic questions. Check for response times and how knowlegable they seem.
Also, make sure there are no strings attached on the 30 day money back guaruntee they offer. You will want to take advantage of that if you sign up and decide you don't like them.

the one buck for month is only if you sign up for a full year and only the first 3 months
so it's basicly an extra 21 dollar lower price for a full year.
Hosting costs 70.5 for a year.
so about 5,90$ per month, which isn't super cheap.

You're quite correct, most big sites do have ***sucks.com. Every big webhost is going to have numerous complaints against it - some of them justified, some of them not. My main reason for buying the domain and relating my experience was because of the way I was treated. I'm a long way from finishing the story - there's a good deal more that I haven't had time yet to include on the site. Startlogic suspended my hosting account with them last Monday. There was no reason for this, at least no reason that I know of. 3 emails to them have all gone unanswered, 2 trouble tickets have been ignored, in fact previous trouble tickets that I submitted months ago have been deleted. They've basically wiped me out of their database completely and I honestly don't have a clue why. Bandwidth usage was 40.9G for January and at the time I signed up they were only allowing 40G so this could be the reason but again, I don't know. I called their tech support line that morning when I first noticed my account had been suspended and was told I would need to send an email to abuse@startlogic.com and ask them. As I said, I've sent them 3 emails and none have been answered.

I can only speak for myself and my experience in dealing with this company. Because my experience has been less than favorable obviously does not mean that yours will, should you decide to sign with them. There are lots of satisfied startlogic customers, in fact from some of the reviews you'll read startlogic is the best thing to hit this planet since twist caps. It's interesting to note that the most gushing of these reviews all seem to be written by startlogic affiliates and the link they provide to send you to the startlogic website contains their affiliate code. Startlogic pays 100.00 for each signup you refer to them. You might consider that when you read all these stellar reviews.

Okey so their affiate fee is quite high, but almost all hosting companies work with affiliating fees.
Besides
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search
they don't seem t ohave many unhappy costumers

And indeed thanks wyweb for your post. I hope they will make it up to you.

I had incredible problems with startlogic, I brought a VPS with them it was so badly put together that when I reboot it from the control panel it shut down the entire machine along with everyone else accounts.

the support is ****, you can ring 24/7 however the people on the phone cannot help you. they will raise a call with techinically support (which you are not allowed to talk to) they will reply 24 hours later, having not given any information that help, you wiull repeat the question and it will take them another 24 hours. You really have to beat them up forr help, every time you put down the phone you will lose a day.

My adivce avoid them like ****. I moved to www.eapps.com they seem a lot better.

thanks for you reply.
Glad you told me this

Why aren't there any really reliable hosting companies outthere.
Reliability seems to really depend on which server you end up :S

well i'll go on searching for another host

Reliable hosting companies are out there. They just get over shadowed by the "fly-by-night" and "after school" companies.

Have you looked at webhostingtalk.com? You can get a lot of good information and weed out alot of the 'bad' companies by reading some of the posts there.
