First time owning domain - please help!

On Saturday I bought the domain joshgracin.com from GoDaddy.com. Also on Saturday, I bought the platinum hosting plan from 30dollarhosting.com.

I received all of my account information from both. Because I bought the domain and hosting from 2 separate places, I had to adjust the nameservers. 30dollarhosting.com provided me with the nameserver addresses that I had to enter in my control panel at GoDaddy.com.

I did this yesterday (Sunday) and today GoDaddy.com is showing that my domain is now registered & hosted with another nameserver.

Does this mean the nameservers are already propogated? Why can't I log into my FTP account?

Can someone PLEASE help me with this? I need help quickly. You can contact me by email or AIM.

email: bsbcroozer@earthlink.net
AIM: bombastical

Thanks,
Cindy

The DNS Name servers they gave you were:
NS1.HOSTINGLINK.ORG
NS2.HOSTINGLINK.ORG
Right? if so then ya, your dns should have propogated to the new name servers. Now you have to upload an index.html file through ftp. Use the username and password your host sent you and for the host use ftp.joshgracin.com. That should work. Post again if you have any more trouble.

I did all of that, but it keeps saying "! Can't get "ftp.joshgracin.com" host entry."

30dollarhosting.com also sent me two PSA entry points, one of which was to be used after the DNS nameservers were propogated. This one isn't working...I keep getting a "cannot find" page.

I am so frustrated! Ahh...

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have tried this on both WS_FTP and CuteFTP.

Just because your domain registrar updated it doesnt mean your ISP has it updated .... it can take upto 72 hours

Are you using Windows XP?

If so, go into cmd [Start -> Run -> cmd.exe], and then type in nslookup YOURDOMAIN.com

If the IP it returns is not that of the IP your site is on, your ISP still hasnt updated it.

Not to scare you or anything, but to me your host looks very dodgy, there site design is horrible, and the plan that you are using offers unlimited bandwidth and space wich is not only impossible, but also means your host is likely unreilable. Good luck, and I will glagly answer any of your questions.

Yes, that design is pretty darn bad...Yuck...
Looks like it was designed by webolocity.com
Not to be rude, but I can't believe people pay for sites like the ones listed in their portfolio!

Do you have everything working okay now Cynthia?
If not, I would ask for your money back and try us www.todayshost.com (currently under a redesign and package upgrades) .

Were they repsonsive to your support questions to them Cynthia?
