HI all, im looking for a dedicated server thats at $99 a month and $0 setup fee i also need it to have Win 2003 OS...i signed up with zipservers.com but they seem to need your driver licence and a copy of your passport! so i asked for a refund...if anyone knows of any dedicated servers please post

I am curently an ev1servers customer.When i signed up they didn`t ask me a driver license or any other ID .If you live in US or Canada they will probably give you a call.For more info take a look at www.ev1servers.net .

Hmm... ev1servers.net is a big company but they tend to get some bad reviews. Try layeredtech.com if you are looking for dedicated server. They received a fair bit of good reviews on WHT.

Amen are really good and they have wiped their setup fee for now. They did not ask for any details like licenses etc, and for a windows 2003 server, you are looking at £43.99 which fits nicely into your budget.

I never heard about Lareyedtech nor amen . I know ev1servers and servermatrix (aka theplanet) rock .. can you give me some links where can i view some reviews about those 2 companies? (lt and amen). Thanks.

Do a search on WebHostingTalk and you should get some results. By the way, ServerMatrix is not ThePlanet, it is just a low-end, entry-level division of ThePlanet. Many dedicated servers providers also offer dedicated servers from ThePlanet.

We have been using EV1 for more than 2 years (left ValueWeb for a better solution). We have multiple servers with EV1 and have yet to have significant issues. Occassionally a control panel upgrade does not go exactly as planned, but that is related to 3rd party software, not EV1's hardware or network.

More than likely the bad reviews come from previous customers that should not have been trying to manage their own server(s). Then possibly got charged for a re-image when they wrecked the system beyond repair

That's a possible scenario though I recommend doing your research at WHT. Many users post their reviews of web hosts there.

GoDaddy is domain name register... They are not a good web hosting provider. Check out webhostingtalk.com you can find more info about them.

Also u want be able to get win2k3 server for 99 month with free setup. Forget it If u have 150-190 for P4 and about 100 for setup then u will be able to find something. Also low price will not provide u with good network uptime and 99% when low price they network will be overloaded.

which are my colleguas.

Normally I would agree with ALLiNET, but EV1 is THE exception. EV1's business leans more to dedicated servers than ANYTHING else. They have 2 massive datacenters in the US (CA and TX), and have never been down (that we have noticed). No issues with bottlenecks or other network congestion.

You sure you not just trying to open the door for your own company?

The point made is a valid one.

However, was their down-time network related or server specific? I doubt is was the entire network and was likely limited to a specific box.

The Down-Time problem was related not in The Planet...
This was a problem in everyone ...
But I am not so sure from where was the problem.
I think its very hard to tell who is the best
The Planet or Everyone Network (ev1.com)

I am not an everyone client and I don't think that
I can give a review for them

I think that
the down time is from their network, becouse
this happens very often (not so often, but I think
that their uptime is not 100%)
However the problem may be from the server
I don't know, I don't want to talk for the BIG companies,
becouse We know that the Data Center Owners
are simply The Best Dedicated Companies

P.S You can see that ev1 guarantee 99.9% (not 100% SLA)
in their official website

I like very much the flash intro of the 1and1 Data Center

But I think that they are not the owner of the Data Center
