Well, to get it online is kind of easy. It matters what hosting company you pick. If you would like i can make you an offer.

You don't have to pay. Look for free hosting first.

I'd recommend dhost. If the site is plain HTML, look on the page for xthost, the url I think is http://xthost.info You can get INSTANT account in a minute.

For a startup project I don't think you should pay. Try a free host and if you are really into it, you can get a paid solution.

Once you find a host you want to go with, they will give you an FTP username & password. You will need to use an FTP client to upload your files and your done. You may have to change the links in your pages if they are not relative links.

I think, you should find a free hosting service at first. And it should have a ftp upload option..

Important advice here....ensure that it has FTP available to you, some of the free ones only allow the built in file manager.

First of all, you can get hosting for less than the price of coffee, and free hosting is not reliable and there are alot of strings attached. Second of all, try to find a host with lots of built in software, such as instant websites, blogs, forums, ecommerce, etc..., most good hosts have software that will automatically create sites that you just have to fill with content.

SysChat .. not all free hosts are crap. I'm buying a domain for my main site and I will stay at my free host since the service is awesome ... way better than many paid options ...

As for autoinstalled forums and stuff ... no way. One should learn to install everything by themselves. Every forum or CMS has got many things to be tweaked afterwards (themes, hacks and so on). If one is not able to at least install the thing, how will he be able to mod the theme, install hacks and so on?

So .. my opinion ... get dirty and work.

I have just stumbled upon this hosting company that offers a dollar plan...I signed up for one and im going to be using it for a side project I have recently started.... They dont seem to be overselling since they only give you 250mb and 1.5 gb of bandwidth....but for 12 bucks a year how can you go wrong..... so far everything has been really fast....granted some of the interfaces are akward but it does come with cpanel....

here is the link www.sjrhosting.com

we shall see how they are after a few months.....
