Hi,

I am looking for paid hosting in North America that will accommodate multiple PHP scripts with multiple MySQL databases. The scripts I use are quite resource-hungry. I don't care which platform.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you.

Most hosts will allow multiple scripts and databases. Although, depending on how much resources your sites use, shared hosting may not be for you.

It depends on what you call resource 'intensive' - to one it may be a lot to another it may be nothing at all

To hostyorkshire (I can't reply due to lack of posts) and all:

Thanks for the replies!

By "intensive" I am not referring to bandwidth - my bandwidth use will be relatively low at less than 10gb/month. I suppose it is CPU and I/O I am concerned about. I have multiple MySQL databases tended by PHP scripts, and their daily functioning involves many passes of the databases. Average number of records on databases ~= 10,000. Average complexity of databases re: number of tables & relationships = relatively lite.

So I know I will need to be careful getting capable hosting. I'm currently serving from home, having switched to a "business" internet connection.

FYI - the scripts in question are family history databases running under PhpGedView.

Thanks again and I appreciate any further suggestions.

Is it just the site in your signature.

@ Duport - no, that site is just my "home" site; I need to run various member sites, all of which are the same as http://demo.treeshare.com/

@ Duport - sorry I can't reply to PM yet - no enough posts.

Addon domains / Reseller ? - I guess the answer is both; I am providing these sites to members, and I hope to grow the number of members - there's only 7 right now. See, I am thinking that I can prolly handle maybe 20 or 30 such sites from home, but after that I'll need hosting. Our business "goal" is 100 members within a couple of years.

Right now each site is handled by mass virtual hosting in Apache. This is the type of thing that I don't know if hosting will accommodate. Thanks for any help.

OK

Reseller would be the best, I can't really tell what MYSQL resources the site(s) are using without seeing it in front of my eyes. Your quite welcome to signup to one our low Reseller priced packages and if the site is very resource intensive we will offer you a full refund. So literally a 14 day trial, over this time we will be able to get an idea on the usage.

If your interested, contact us and leave 'from WMT' in your message somewhere

You can host unlimited domains with this package, you have 1 gb space and 40 gb bandwith, now it depends how many sites you intend to host and what resource the sites will require.
