Hi All,

Can someone tell me the best way to resolved this issue:

I am currently out of Bandwidth (for the remainder of this month)

My Question is:

Is there someway that I can redirect my current domain (which is hosted) to my local machine (which I just installed Abyss Webserver, with php 5)? I don't have mysql installed at the moment, but am going to soon. I will be needing mysql, as my site makes use of 1 database using mysql.

The reason I want to do this, is to basically use my machine as a backup bandwidth machine if/when my hosting account runs out of bandwidth. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I don't know if this is feasible, but I think you get where I am getting at.

Thanks alot!

-Brian

Hi,

In General, would you know if asking this quesiton to my webhost company would be a good idea? Meaning, If I plan on still using them? Or would that not even be an issue?

Thank you.

If you ran out of bandwidth I guess they may allow you to purchase extra for just this month or upgrade your plan, however it you used all your bandwidth I wouldn’t mind changing the IP for a short while as long as you are paying!

You could just change your name servers to another provider temporary until next month.

I think the easiest thing would be to ask your host to bump up your bandwidth quota for the remainder of the month. Either that or upgrade to a higher plan if you think this may become an ongoing issue.

Yes, buy some bandwidth from your web host if you can afford it. It usually is only a one-time thing.
