Hi,

I would not recommend purchasing their services. They claim to offer "unmetered bandwidth". There's actually two problems with that claim. First of all, the proper term is "data transfer", as bandwidth refers to the actual connection. You can't have a connection with a speed of unlimited Mbps. Secondly, "umetered" just doesn't exist in the paid hosting realm. Most of these hosts are scams, and should not be trusted. I rarely hear of good experiences with unlimited hosts.

i agree with conker,

there does not exist anything called unlimited bandwidth..

keep away from these..

As conkermaniac pointed out, there strictly is a difference between bandwidth and data transfer. Most hosts use the terms interchangeably so for all intents and purposes they mean the same thing at this level.

As for the term "unmetered", I have yet to hear a coherent explanation as to what this means. It doesn't really mean "unlimited" but they'd probably like you to think it does. Regardless, there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. It's impossible. Everybody (and I mean everybody) pays for bandwidth and that's why no one will really offer you an unlimited quantity of it for a fixed price. Same could be said for unmetered: If you're not "metering" it then as a bandwidth provider you can't possibly keep track of your costs and will probably end up going out of business in short order. That's why these guys will just shut you down after you run up a few gigs of transfer or whatever they decide is "enough".

Bottom line is to stay away from this kind of host. Don't bother challenging their claims. Don't even talk to them. It just isn't real.

Unmetered .. um.. does it mean the same as unlimited

The joys of messing around with language ! Bandwidth is probably one of the most expensive aspect of hosting. Top quality bandwidth does cost a lot. Providing unmetered/unlimited quantity of it is simple childish behaviour. They are going to assume you cannot use any decent amount of bandwidth which might dent their availability.

Also servers come with different configurations etc. Our servers in many cases do not pull more than 50 GB a month and we end up purchasing more servers due to the component of server load.

In some cases of downloads, the servers hit 300GB per month. You will have to keep all of those issues in a proper perspective before you decide on your host/provider.

Regards,

Nice website design and their prices look ok but I agree, I'd never trust anyone who offers unlimited data transfer. Just look at http://www.unlimband.com/

I use http://www.pipeten.com/ and have no complaints.
