hey, just found a pretty good site with some good links to free hosts

sites kind of ugly, but they provide some pretty good links to some free hosts, and some good guidelines on what to look for in a host

I would also like to recommend that you read this article:

It provides a clear discussion of what to look for in a web host and discusses domain registration, search optimization amont other topics.
