Found these guys in a host review list, looked pretty good until I read stories of some scammer called Timmah handing out yearly hosting plans which he would terminate after a week or two. After some further reading it seems that the domain was bought in October 2004 by Steadfast networks :

http://www.hostaffect.com/corporate/

I mailed them a couple of questions about their server software, and what happens when you overstep your bandwidth limit, and they responded within 24 hours with answers to all my questions.

Do they look okay to your experienced eyes or is this not a good idea?

Host Affection does not seem like the kind of company I would trust. And they are overselling pretty bad.

Steadfast, however, looks like a more reputable company. So maybe the havn't fully absorbed Host Affection yet and made it their own. I wouldn't be suprised if steadfast completly did away with HA's plans all together, as they seem unreasonable.

You should be looking at Steadfast's site as they are the ones who will be providing the service, not Host Affection

Yeah I had a look at Steadfast themselves and the plans there were more like what I've seen elsewhere. There must be something odd going on if HA can afford to give out that much for so little.
I had a look at BlueHost , and it seems they offer a reasonable deal for $6.95 a month, plus everything I read about them says they are a long-standing host with a good rep.

I know people who have used BlueHost and were happy. I think you'd be safe with them.
