1. Point your domain to your hosting, login to your domain account and change the default name servers to your hosts if you have not already.

2. From your host you should have received the login details for your web space, if you have not you need to get these.

3. Open SmartFTP; where you see 'Address' enter the IP of the server or yourdomain.com* in the 'Login' field enter your username and in the 'Password' field enter your password, hit enter and it should start to login in. When it is logging in to the server the Log box will show any fails/warnings or errors, read the error given and correct if needed.

4. In your hosts welcome email it should give you details on where you need to upload your website to, i.e: upload your files to the 'public_html' this is usually the same for all cPanel servers, if it is not this is usually something like 'httpdocs' or yourdomain.com*

5. Upload your files into the above named folders you should now see when you view your website those pages/files.

*yourdomain.com - replace this with your website URL

Tips:
Use small text no caps for web pages or folder names.

Anything you don't want to show to the public password protect the folder or move it to your 'home' directory folder this is usually the area when you first login via FTP, you will see a number of other folders in here, don't delete these if you don't know what they do or are for.

When you right click on files/folders and select 'Properties/CHMOD' you are able to change the permissions on individual files or folders, don't use Permissions 777 unless you need to do for a script or item that you need to run.
