It depends if your looking for managed or unmanged. If you are looking for unmanaged check out rackshack.net as they seem to be the lowest prices and have great service. I currently manage one box there. If you are looking for managed let me know I might be able to help you find a solution that fits your needs.

Whats the difference? managed means they install last patch and etc about security?

I am wondering, does anyone knows a bit about game servers?
I want to know if a dual xeon + 1Gb server can support how much game servers of counter strike or any fps game?

I calculated : 10 Mbps <=> 1250 Ko/s
One player requires 5Ko/s
So one server is up to 250 players with no lag ( of the internet connection ).
So I can make over 15 servers of 16 players.
Considering one server of 16 players can be rent each month for 99$, this would cost me at final 499$ per month for the hosting but I will receive 1500$ per month considering all my servers are bought.

BUT I just think 1 dual xeon proc + 1 Gb ram wont support that much processes

A managed server means that everything is updated by the person who you purchased the server from.

As for how many gameservers you can run on one server, its dependent on the server itself. For gameservers its a good idea to have alot of RAM(memory) and a fast CPU. The bandwidth is also important, you should never figure it out by how much the line your on can handle but rather setup a few, see how well that runs, then setup a few more, and stop setting them up when things start to get slow. Chances are you will not be able to use the Max the line can handle do to the fact that there is always network traffic and this will take some of the line speed away.

If you need some answers as to how many a server can handle, give me some more info, as in the following questions.

What game?
Going to run any add-ons for the game(stats programs and such)?
Is this strictly going to be gaming servers or also hosting websites?

Half life mod counter strike or day of deafeat + usual addons for these games, and also should make the main site running too.By main site I mean the usual forums with php and sql.

Its generally not a great Idea to run websites on the same server as gameservers cause the server load. As for the gameserver stuff I'll talk to some of my friends about it and get back to you.
