Man, I'd have to disagree on all three points. The control panel bites: click, click click click, you cant do anything in a batch, its just plain clunky. and slow.

My email has been blocked several times by spam lists (not my fault, the whole IP range or mail server gets blocked)

Uptime is somewhat less than flawless. I dont have any numbers, but its been a few times that my sites arnt up.

I've been with them for a year, but am currently transfering all my sites over to powervps.

Oh, and if you are thinking of running zen-cart on 1and1, there are problems with the security cert.

and their support sucks. unanswered tickets...

Well, obviously here is someone who has had separate experiences. I've had them over two years now (I got that three year free package) and have never experienced issues like this. Granted, I have no experience with their zen cart, so I can't speak to that. The point is that you are going to find as many different opinions as users, I suppose. I don't do batch jobs on the control panel, so you're right, that might be a different experience. But I like it because it is lucid, clear and well-designed -- more than can be said about some panels.

juglesh, I hope you have better luck with powervps. Check back with us and let us know how it's going.

NOTE: It's just my inconsequential opinion, but I think it's hard for me to seriously consider criticism of any hosting company by those of you who own hosting companies. Your criticism may be valid and fair, but I immediately can't help but wonder how much competitive positioning I am witnessing. Unfair, granted, but still perception is everything.

so far, so great (powervps), but its only been a couple months. WHM/CP is taking some getting used to, but once you grok it, works well. Support is like .5hr even for a general support ticket. I'm no server admin, they are good about explaining stuff and getting you pointed right. Of course, I do my research before I go crying to them, I guess they can tell.

Well you should always check some web host directories and read the reviews. It's very useful.
