Hi, i m sorry if i posted in the wrong board, i cudnt find a board that this post cud fit in.
I m very new to the world of Cpanel and how it works. I got a server with cpanel X.

Recently my friend got me two domain names. He told me to to change the nameservers. And so he did. And then he told me to host the domains. So i went on cpanel and parked the domain (still not sure if i done the right thing) and now he says make a accounts for the two domains, first i didnt know what to do so i asked him, he said, setup up two ftp accounts with the domains, like this :

ftp://domain1.com
ftp://domain2.com

But I dont kno how to do that. My current webhost already has its own domain. Lets say its domain3.com. I can make ftp accounts with subdomains of domain3.com.

Can someone please help !

Thanks

If you own a reseller account, do you have access to WHM (Web Hosting Manager)?
If it's just a shared hosting account, you may try adding domain1.com and domain1.com as addon domains. There should be a category "Addon Domains" in your cPanel.

Mine is just a shared hosting account. When I click addon domain. I says :

The subdomain, * has been added.

Sorry, cannot determine nameserver IPs. Please make sure that the domain is registered with a valid domain registrar.

Removed Entry from httpd.conf The subdomain, * has been removed.

* could not be setup. The subdomain *was not setup either.

2nd time I tried :

The subdomain, * has been added.

bluehits.com is already configured.

Removed Entry from httpd.conf The subdomain, * has been removed.

Are you wanting to direct both these domains to the one because park domains does this if you want to host the two websites individually you need to use addon's domains, those errors you are receiving means that you need to contact the host as it has to be removed properly so you can then set it up again, or those nameservers you are using are not the primary servers this may be because the host is a reseller and are using there own nameservers that have not been correctly setup.

An addon domain:

An addon domain is a domain name that points to a subdirectory within your account.

Example: You may want myaddon.com to point to mywebsite.com/kb. Addon domains must be registered domain names that you own and configured to point to your account.

Creating an Add-on domain:

1. Click on the Addon Domains button from cPanel.
2. Enter the domain in the New Addon Domain field (setupmyaddon.com).
3. Add the directory that the addon domain points to in the username/directory field (kb)
4. Enter the password for the domain in the Password field, if required.
5. Click on the Add button.

If you haven't all ready you now need to update your nameservers from your domain control panel to point to your account.

Park domain:

You can set up a domain name that you own to point to another domain name. This is known as "parking" a domain.

Example: You own the myaddon.com and mywebsite.com domain names. You already have a web site for myaddon.com, but you do not want to create a new web site for mywebsite.com at the moment. By parking mywebsite.com on top of myaddon.com, all URL requests for mywebsite.com will automatically go to myaddon.com instead.

To park a domain:

1. Click on the Parked Domains from cPanel.
2. Enter the name of the domain that you want to park in the New Domain Name field.
3. Click on the Add button.

Quick summary

A parked domain is a name which simply points to your account. In other words, domain name pointers allow you to have as many domain names point to your website as you wish.
