How much bandwidth do you usually go through in a month with your site?

About 1GB. I'm kind of a text freak though.

It really depends on the site too, I have a side project ecommerce site with over 35,000 pages that's getting more than 8,000 unique visitors monthly and yet only uses about 4gb of bandwidth each month.

On the flip side, our main site only has about 3 dozen pages and get's half as many uniques monthly but burns through 8 to 9gb because of larger graphics and flash files.

HTH,
Scott

Like scott bannon said, it really depends on what your site is about. If you want to decide how much bandwidth you will need, here is what i would do. It may not be the best method but i hope it helps"

OK, first you google/yahoo! for a site that is similar to the kind of site you want to build. Then you can email the webmaster/webmistress to see how much bandwidth they use every month. Most of them would be glad to answer that question.

Another thing is that even though the site you looked for is the same type, you should really consider whether you are going to have more/less "bandwidth-eating" files such as flash file or images.

Know roughly all these information will probably help you to estimate the amount of bandwidth you need. (anyway, just in case you wanna know, the purpose of searching for a site with similar purpose rather than similar size is because the kind of site you build will affect the bandwidth you need too. There is, after all, a difference in the number of visitors you will roughly get every day when you build different kind of site.

Hope this helps you!

True, I'd like to know what kind of site you are having Ace, with hundreds of GBs BW required DAILY.

The only sites I've seen that draw that kind of bandwidth are streaming sites or porn sites (which of course are sometimes the same).

OK, doubt any other kind of sites would need that much bandwidth though.

You should calculate your actual requirement of your bandwidth in advance by keeping the margin. This is my personal experience that most of the people are not using the total bandwidth but they're only paying for it.

Oh, by the way, do you mind saying what do you want to know this info for? Are you trying to figure out how much bandwidth you need or something?
