Hi there...

I am trying to find for days a good certificate, trusted, but not so expensive as I see at many sites.

All I need is to collect Credit cards after a reservation (I own a renting services of apartments for turists).

What I need? 128? 256? I don't understand a thing in certificates.

I heard some hosting companies share a certificate, is that true?
I am hosting at reflected.net . I wish they had reply my last emails, I am not sure so far if they are doing a share-certificate.

I am looking for a cheap one that will suit just credit cards storage.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Guy.

If your collecting credit card information, I would not use a shared certificate. Your better off getting your own. You will also need a dedicated IP address, make sure your host can provide you with one.

Rapid SSL has a certificate for $69/year. This would probably be enough for you.

SSL will not help you with the storage of the information, only the transmittal between the client and your server. To store the inforamation more securly, you will need to encrypt the CC numbers in your database.

About Dedicated IP address. Why dedicated? How a share IP can put my customer's credit cards in danger?

In order to install an SSL certificate, it requires a dedicated IP.
