Hi All,
We are conducting a survey and we want to find out what Web Masters/Web Developers/Designers prefer to use for their hosting. Do they prefer Windows Hosting or Linux Hosting?

What if the Web pages are designed in HTML and you find a Windows and a Linux Host offering their services for the same price (considering the competition in the hosting industry these days). Which one will you choose?

Please share your views.

Definetly Linux. Since it is more secure than linux.

A server is only as secure as the administrator running it. Neither one is more or less secure then the other.

If all I had was html pages and didn't rely on any server side languages, then it really doesn't matter which OS I chose. They will both handle the job well.

I think that it realy depends on the personal tast.

Both are very good, most problems are because of bad code, and that can afect Linux and Windows.

n my opinion hosting depends on scripting language used by Web Masters/Web Developers/Designers. I think they prefer Windows hosting for ASP script design and prefer linux hosting for php script design.

Definitely My vote is to Linux for server and hosting, as it is cheaper,stable and highly secure.

I lean towards Linux since I feel that Windows hosting is more restricted.

IMO, most online users prefer a linux hosting..

Only because it's free, not because it's better.

I agree with Anacrusis, if the administrator is good it doesn't matter what OS it is because you know its secure. But myself i'd god with Linux Hosting, probably because i never tried Windows.
