For all of you who have been trying to get a good free webhost, but have been dissapointed, over and over again, well done, you've come to the right place.

Before I give you the URL let me give you some of the stats

100 MB starting space (it can be upgraded if you ask for it)
300 GB monthly bandwidth
PHP
MySQL
NO ADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that's not so great is uptime, but its improved a lot since i stopped using them.

whats the catch? where do they make money in this one?

I personally use astahost.com It requires you to be an active member in the community, but it is well worth it. Similarly, Trp17.com is owned by the same company. And a new Trap17.net that requires no forum posting (but has ads) is soon to be available. The uptime is great, but unfortunately their is someone using DDoS attacks on the server, so it is pretty erratic at the moment.

There is no catch.

The guy who started Dhost, did it so he could learn more about the whole webhosting, thing and now he does it as a hobby. The money to run the service is made from google ads on the front page, I don't think they make profit,

dhost is good I know a number of people whom use the free service. There are times when it may be slow but most of the time its a very good service

I use payed anyway so it doesnt affect me

Great; think I'll use that rather generous 300GB to host my MP3 collection...

Seriously though, I wouldn't trust a site describing their bandidth as "a hell of a lot" and a homepage made from a simple template where half the links spawn new windows.

But hey, I'm intrigued about the whole charity idea.

i sent a request but never got an answer.

there are 100's of fancy free sites, with great layouts and proffesional speech, but how many are there that don't use you, bombard you with ads, screw you, make it impossible to host a large site.

I hosted a site there, with 700 hits and almost 300 GB mothly bandwidth.

300 gb/month? definitely, this would be a catch.

well, its not 300GB a month, its 10 GB a day, whitch is like the same thing. I once used 15GB and they asked me to remove the large files which so many people were downloading, I guess for a free service, that's fair.

10GB per month is alot , how long have they been in free hosting?

dhost.info has been around for quite a while. I think they are not more than a year old yet but they are looking good at the moment. 300GB bandwidth sounds a bit too good to be true though.
