I was thinking that I am going to have some extra time next year and would like to try starting a free hosting service on my reseller account. I know, I should just buy a server, but this is just going to be an experiment.

What I am looking for is resources to automate this so that the person signing up simply fills out a form and they get a sub-domain.

I also want the ability to show advertisements in the header of all of the sites, and the option to remove them for a small fee.

If you can help me on one of, or all of, these questions please let me know. Or if you know where I can find the info that would be great.

First make sure you host allows you to do this. There are hosts that don't allow their resellers to use their acounts for free hosting.

Yes, ldcdc is right. Most of the hosts have this clause in their reseller hosting terms & conditions.
