you can get a dedicated server, but to have one at your house you will have to have t1 or t3 internet, google it for prices. the servers in themselves will cost thousands. your other option is a vps (vurtial private server), it is your own dedicated server, but with them and their internet. you can do enything you want with it, that will run you hundreds a month. you better have a good deal of money because you will lose tens of thousands before you get on your feet. and just to make it harder, if you dont know what you are doing with unix you are bound to fail with a unix/linux server. windows are no easier from what I have heard.
the trafic of dedicated servers is too slow and not enought

no Windows ... what if I take somebody to help me with managing Linux ???

more and more I am beginning to think you are trolling

my reccomendations:
you are not fit for this buisness, you are not open to the help that will lead you to success. do 2 things
1. learn to listen to someone then come back
2. burn it, it will be more amusing to watch then you wasting it on a bound to fail buisness.

First you need to decide which way you are going to go.

Open Source - LINUX or Microsoft - Windowz

Also If you want to resell reseller space then I think you may be looking at a dedicated server.

As for costs I'd say you'll need at least a grand (£) to run it for the year.

(I'd also buy a dictionary if you've any money left, it really dosen't give your prospective clients much confidence if you can't spell and your web site is full of mistakes)

Having said that , good luck and let us all know if you make it!

Hes right. Buy a nice dictionary with your picture on the cover. You can have the cheapest hosting with the most reliable service and the msot features and with that kinda english you won't do good. Your worse than me :P

If your going into the web hosting business for the money get a job at McDonalds. You'll make way more money and your life will be less hecktic.

Here are some advices, at least that i'd do with a budget around 30000 $ USD.

1) Get a powerfull dedicated server (a dual xeon, or an opteron) , i would highly suggest getting one from www.ev1servers.com OR www.servermatrix.com . These two companies are the best in business.

2) Get the best sysadmin you can find, he will not be cheap!, and ask him to install on your new server a control panel (customers like cpanel, plesk or ensim, i suggest using plesk), and than ask him to install all the security updates. He will know what to do.

3) Design your website, make affordable ( not to cheap and not to expensive plans, do not oversell! ) , make sure you don't leave any broken links, than invest some money in advertising your website.

4) Rent a space in your local town if you don't have one, than make it an office. Hire some staff so you can have 24/7 support available for your new customers.

And now you are ready to go

I hope this helps.

This thread has been open for 2 months and in that time there has been some very sound advice given to you. You have chosen not to listen and instead trash on those who try to help you.

This topic is old and this thread is going nowhere. Thread closed.
