I'd say that give your situation you'd be better off with a reseller account at first. Take the time to become proficient at using and understanding all the features and terms you encounter in the control panel, and only then consider actually hosting anyone.
There's a lot to learn, and hosting forums (there are quite a few, but only 3-4 or so are really worth mentioning) are probably the best place to do most of your research. Read a lot, and then ask clear, to the point questions.

cPanel is probalise the easiest and most popular control panel, most hosts that do reseller accounts come with WHM and cPanel.

Hi huligancho,
Try to go with reseller account, so you won't need to take care about hardware, etc. All you will need to do - collect money from your customers

I think you really don't need to start choosing operating systems and what sort of software and hardware you need. You have defined your market, resellers that is??? right?
First you need to decide which way you are going to go.
Open Source - LINUX or Microsoft - Windowz
Also If you want to resell reseller space then I think you may be looking at a dedicated server.
As for costs I'd say you'll need at least a grand (£) to run it for the year.
(I'd also buy a dictionary if you've any money left, it really dosen't give your prospective clients much confidence if you can't spell and your web site is full of mistakes)
Having said that , good luck and let us all know if you make it!
Andrew

Nobody here can answer those questions for you. Only you can answer them. If you are serious about being in the hosting business then you really need to do your homework.
You will need to research everything involved with being a host and decide for yourself which OS, hardware software etc. you will want need in order to meet your clients requirements.
You will need to determine who your clients will be. You can't just go after everybody, you need to find a niche.
You need to figure out what type of business it will be such as sole proprieter, s-corp, LLC etc..
How much capital do you have now to get things going? Can you pay for servers, software licences and advertising? You need to plan to LOSE money for at least a year, probably more.
I will be happy to answer any specific questions you may have, but if you have no idea where to begin, then you have a lot of work ahead of you. Good luck.

you can get a dedicated server from theplanet or ev1server. As far as Hardware is concerned, it depends upon the number of sites you are planning to host, kind of websites and traffic load. Today Xeon processers are becoming a minimus processor dor selling hosting. Then RAM you could get atleast 1GB. Operating system Fedora is good enough, But I personally prefer RHE.
After that you will need a system Administration to manage all your installations of softwares and monitoring your server. The basic softwares you need are
http server, email server, ftp server, firewall, mysql, postgre, bind, etc. If you are planning to use a control panel like cpanel all the softwares are bundle with it.
Again if you don't have experience of managing a dedicated server and if you are not having an administrator, go for a reseller account.

Best advice i can give you is: keep your costs at minimum and do not risk much money in the beginning as you may need more money in the future to run your business.
As you may have considered, you will be collecting money from customers monthly but you will be paying more for your dedicated server / reseller costs. Make sure you provide high uptime service and fix problems before your customers warn you about downtimes...
And of course, always try to provide custom solutions for each customer's specific needs. This is not easy but try your best to make each customer fully satisfied with your services.

Well he was giving you a very good advice, and i think you are making a confusion.. or you don't know what a Data Center is. You will be way too rich to talk with us in this comunity when you'll operate your own data center . Here are 2 data centers examples, visit for details and stuff :

your choice, you should take their wisdom.
you can get a dedicated server, but to have one at your house you will have to have t1 or t3 internet, google it for prices. the servers in themselves will cost thousands. your other option is a vps (vurtial private server), it is your own dedicated server, but with them and their internet. you can do enything you want with it, that will run you hundreds a month. you better have a good deal of money because you will lose tens of thousands before you get on your feet. and just to make it harder, if you dont know what you are doing with unix you are bound to fail with a unix/linux server. windows are no easier from what I have heard.

Raulica is right. I think he does not know the difference between a datacenter and a dedicated server. Because data centers are big establishments that need huge investments. A building, special airconditioning and cabling systems, security cameras, power generators etc. Maybe million dollar investment is needed.
Therefore, if you don't want a simple reseller account, you can lease dedicated servers from a company that has a data center.

server cost 2000$ , for begin I need one
storage server cost 4000$ , for begin = one
back-up things = 2000$
T1 - 250-300$ a month
I say - for begin , 5000$ for publishing
so ... I have a budget around 30000 $ ... why not then ???
