I want to register a domain name and hot the same. Please tell me what questions i ask to my service provider regarding domain name and hosting.

Well at first make sure you have done your research and the host you want to go with has a good reputation, test their support system by sending them a general enquiry and observe how long it takes them to respond. If it takes quite a lot of time for them to respond then it says something about their system. And also when you go with a host who has registered a domain for you make them send you an official e-mail to state that the domain belongs to you.

In addition to Rifat's good adivce, be sure to look around the potential hosts website and make sure there is contact information, especially a phone number and postal address.

Figure our what your sites requirements might be and make sure your host will allow you to upgrade plans easily as your site grows. Do not shop on price alone, chances are if a host is offering you the world for just a few dollars, you will get screwed.

If you will be running an ecommerce site, make sure the host will give you a dedicated IP. Some hosts offer a free shared SSL, inquire about this if you think you might want to use it.

...and if all that seems just too much hard work, checkout hosting comparision web sites - there are plently around. These should give you feedback on how a host has performed not only from server reponse tests but from real customers too.

If you are serious about your web project then I'd ring a host and have a chat with him / her on the phone before you take the plunge. Let them know what you plan to do. If they are good they may too suggest any specific requirements you may need.

It's a hard choice because there's lots out there!
