I live in Australia, and I'm possibly planning to start my own business in which I will be hosting broadband for people around my city. What I would like to know is, what sort of server(s) do I need to look for in order to be able to host broadband for a few hundred people at once. If business goes well, i will be purchasing more servers.

You can't host people on a broadband connection. The upload speed is just way too slow. There is no way you could have 100 customers, you will need multiple connections to the interenet to support them. And what happens if the power goes out, do you have deisal generators to keep the server running?

Not to mention the fact that most ISP's (at least here in the US) do not allow servers of any kind to be running on their customers broadband connection. So be sure to check with them first.

If you want to provide 100 satisfactory to your customer, u must need 2GB upload speed.

ISP here are always looking for sub-contractors so I wanted to know more about it. I'll contact the providers here for more info, because they offer this particular service that i'm looking for.
