I have a real quick question, I found a web design firm and they offered me a dedicated server with my package for $49.99/Month well $50.00 a month. Is that good price for dedicated server? http://www.image-xl.com

Anyone heard of them? Is it a good deal for the hosting part? Any advice would be helpful

I didnt even knew there was still celerons 1.0 out there.

Now seriously. NO that for sure isnt a good deal.
Another thing.
That server is empty not even a OS they have installed, if you want you have to pay for, if you want a control panel you have to pay for that = $120
Now for $120 you can get already a celeron 2.4-2.6 with at least 1GB ram
If you want more power for 150-175 you can get a D820-920 with 1Gb ram and so on.

Again, no thats not a good deal at all.

NOt to mention that their designs are 90% templatemonster.com modifications... impressive uh.

That is a great price, but I doubt you'll get high quality support and stability with that server. Expect what you pay for.

$50 for a dedicated server is a good price but I think should not expect very good support, unless they are a developing host, trying to make a good name for themselves. If support is not a priority for you which is very rare, then there's nothing to worry about. Go for it.

Intel Celeron 1.0 GHz CPU is nothing. My notebook is at least twice more powerful. Do not go for nothing less than Pentium 4 3.0GHz.

I would not recommend you to go for a $50 per month dedicated server bcoz $50 is not even well enough for a high speed semi-dedicated server. Eventhough if you wish to opt for the dedicated server then don't expect good support and high uptime.

I once found an excelent reseller host, best ever. He closed shop after 5 months. I had to reconfigure about 26 sites. It's a highly competitive business and it's probably best to stick with a larger and well estaclished company.

Also, Godaddy is $39.99/month for dedicated servers. Make sure you get cPanel/WebHost Manager.
