nope. they are doing the same thing as ms anti-spyware, they have evrery intention of over charging for it when they are done with their beta lab rats

It's a pretty good deal but I'm sure there's a catch to it.

i would think that once you decide to move to another host they will charge you a arm and leg to take your domain with you. Will you get to have full control of the domain?

Coming from microsoft, I would expect you'll be limited to their technologies. ASP, Windows Server etc. I wonder if they'll offer open source solutions such as PHP and MySQL.

i like asp, i think its pretty. but i couldn't make sites without mysql i sure as hell aint using msaccess

and as for no phpmyadmin just say its a good thing i got my own server

for the people that sign up then, and they never said how long after beta

i think it may be alright to host a site with them just for kicks and see how it goes.. but if i was someone who had a business, i would defnitely not go anywhere near them until they built up some reputation...

Well the downside is they ask for your credit card details. I presume that in small small small fine fine print somewhere after a few years or something they will start charging automatically to your credit card, or make you pay for the domain.

Beside, hosting from Microsoft? If you want your site to have more than 1% uptime, don't do it :P

Yea, it's Microsoft though, so read the fine print. You have to pay for it after the beta period is over.

Does anyone know if users are able to control their domains names and change namesevers? I would expect microsoft would not allow this but does anyone know for sure?
