Okay... What I'm doing is kind of weird... Here's the deal... I currently host 16 low bandwidth websites for local companies. Real basic sites. What I would like to do instead of colocation/dedicated servers is setup my own stuff. I'm in an area where I can get decent connections at fair rates. Around $350 a T1 unmanaged and $700 managed. Anyhow, I've built myself a pretty basic server. AMD 64 x2 4800+, 2GB Ram, SATA Drives ect.... It should run these sites fine, well I hope anyhow But I don't know much about setting this stuff up... Basically I know most of it just not the DNS part of it.... What I want to do before I go and sign a contract with the ISP for my line I want to try and play around with this stuff to learn it... I'm running Windows 2003 Server w/ Plesk (30 Domain licenses) I want to try this out using my current connection ( 6Mbit/1.5Mbit ) cable. Its dynamic but I've had the same IP address for the last 2 years. I have a domain I want to use at www.sitelutions.com. Basically I need to know how to make my domain work with this box...

Catch is. Port 80 is blocked....

I have a few ideas of my own on what to try but I have to wait untillmy domain resolves to my machine... at sitelutions I added an A record to point to my machine... (boxname.domain.com)

Well could use the help... Thanks!

Hi there,

I think it will be much easy if you get a dedicated server or to colocate one. The connections and everything will be more reliable and you will have less worries.

The best you can do however is to get Managed server and to focus on business issues, not on administration.
