Hello All,

Guys got this question? Does GoDaddy offer stuff for CuteNews?

Cause right now making a site and I already got hosting with GoDaddy and what I am having problem is that I can't seem to install my CuteNews cause once I go to install it says Installation failed cause No Permission!

And I being the admin have all permission on all my FTP Folders set to max and no more pemission left so what should I do?

Someone pointed out and said its cause of something called 777 acess and GoDaddy doesn't offer that is that true?

And if not then I am happy to host my CuteNews (Admin Panel) on a different hosting site can I do it that way and have my site still hosted with GoDaddy and CuteNews with some other host?

And can someone plz give me a list of good hosting sites with CuteNews capbility, if GoDaddy doesn't have it?

best advice I can give you: ask Godaddy. They should know the definitive answers.

GoDaddy doesn't allow if they allow you to set 777 file permissions? That's a bit odd. Although you should be able to get most web applications to work with opening priviliges up to 777.

If you're planning to leave GoDaddy, CuteNews does not require anything special. Any host that supports PHP will do.

That is strange. Maybe not all their servers have the same setup? But then they could have said just that... Strange.

Well, I dont know whats cutenews, sorry about that! Any linux hosting package will allow you to changemod via FTP itself. If you are on Windows, thats not possible. I am not surprised by godaddy's reply, you cant expect them to know everythign about every third party tools.

Expecting you are on Linux, you can do a phpinfo() and see your config. And see what cutenews needs. If you can post a link to your phpinfo and cutenews doc that specifies the requirements, I will guide you further.
