It is one of slowest tool you may have ever used.
but slowness doesn't mean it is worthless of your time.

But in order to make it faster i cannot do anything because it takes multiple seconds to fetch html source of every backlink url. It varies from 1 sec to even 15 sec. But on otherside all algo execution is done in less than 100th of a second mostly.

In my opinion there is no way for me to fetch html source of backlink urls faster because it depends on their servers not mine.

But some friends still suggesting me to move from shared hosting to vps. But i am not seeing any point to move because its not going to make it a faster tool.

Do you think..

VPS provides faster inside download then shared hosting?

I mean faster execution of file_get_contents [php] function ?

** Anyother tweak in your mind to make it faster because few friends really want to see it processing 1000 backlinks in 20 to 30 seconds.
like Chris (admin) of searchguild.

* please feel free to suggest anything about it.

Thank You.

Having a VPS rather than shared hosting probably won't make any difference to the speed. The speed will mainly be affected by the load on the server, the uplink to the net, the PHP/MySQL setup, and of course how quickly the site you're grabbing from serves up the info.

None of those things should really change when you're going to a VPS from shared hosting. The only thing you MIGHT be able to affect is your PHP and MySQL (I'm making a general assumption that this is the database type you're throwing the info into so if I'm wrong, sorry) setup.

thinking that using php only wont be enough.

you probably need to convert into EXE program with multithreading. 4 thread in minimum. the webpage will pass parameter to this program, program execute all page lookup. finalise the result, and return data back to webpage.

its tough to do conversion like this. one way is use javascript to refresh the result webpage. new result will be updated 1 by 1.... 100 done.

hope this help
