Ok so i want to build small websites for people, but I am curious on how I could wrap web hosting in a fee each month?

Like say you charge x amount for being a webmaster and x amount for web hosting

But do you go with a free host for a small site?

Or just pay for a larger web host like 5.95 a month?

Also I see reseller options, could I sell a package to someone?

Any help would be great

You may start from the free hosting with your small site and see how everything goes on. Is it a business site? Or just a home page?

Would you trust your business site with a free host? With free hosting there are no guarantees and your sites could be there one day and gone the next.

If you want to do it properly get a Reseller hosting account to host your clients sites. You can then charge them whatever you liked.

I think you may start from the shared paid hosting. If you want your business doesn't go down you'd be better to pay for it from the very begining. You know you get what you pay for.

I would recommend a reseller account with a reputable provider. There are tons of options now for reseller accounts. Some providers offer one account and allow several domains under the account while others are on a pay as you go system. You purchase your reseller account and then add resold plans at a discount when needed. With a reseller plan though this gives the web designer the opportunity to enhance his own services by offering hosting. Normally you will provode support to your clients but in turn YOU get support from your upstream.

Its a good way to start into the hosting business for sure and then you can expand as you grow, if need be.
Best of luck!

To start your business in web hosting area from the reseller account is a good idea I think. But before starting it you have to have much knowledge in web hosting in general (I mean all merits and drawbacks of reselling). I can recommend you as a reseller to use abosting.biz. I host my dedicated server at this company and I'm glad with their service very much. I know them to be a reputable company with an in-house support. You may try them and then share your experience with this company. Maybe with time I become the reseller of them.
