I wonder what is the easiest way to make a 24/7 video stream?
I run windows and ubuntu.

I heard Nullsoft is the easiest but they are starting to put ads into the content.
Any ideas or opinions?
Anyone has their own stream?

definately u will need streaming server for this task. its not going to be an ordinary server/pc.

video source > encoder> stream format > web

try look for real network, helix server.

first off all you will need a dedicated server with a 100mb umetered line plus the server will need to be pretty high spec. this will ensure your site wont be slow for streaming and your server wont crash

eg.
3.2 dual core p4
2 gb ram
160 hd
100mb umetered line = 3500Gb bandwidth

probably costing over $2500 per month

and then you need the correct software as well. maybe this could do: http://www.videolan.org/
