I've been hosting with Netlinkinfo.com for about a year and had downages happen on a regular basis. They blame freeware applications like phpbb. On the 13th of this month my site actually went down and they responded that they would get working on it immediately seeing as they had stated it was due to non-technical reasons if you look at the site. They said the site had been hacked and that they would start working on getting it back up and respond asap with some info. To this day they still have not returned any calls, nor emails to any of their email addresses. I highly recomment avoiding them as a hosting company.

they only have 1 server running?
if you face technical related to server, send in request to change to another server. Most likely ur current problem can be solved.

i did it before, and yes, its good to get away from congested server etc.

Ummm...hacking IS a technical reason. The technical reason is that they left a door open for the site to be hacked (or you did, which is unlikely since they're providing scripts.)

www.sectorlink.com (stuff like that doesn't happen there...I'm almost on my 5-year anniversary with them, so if anyone would know, it would be me. )

If it's any consolation, LordStryfe, you're far from the only person who has had something like this happen. I had it happen about 6 years ago with a company called Interland. They installed Hosting Controller and it got hacked.

I believe some clients was running phpbb unpatch which is an easy target for malicious hackers. Its advisable to all running phpbb to get it patch asap.

Lordstryfe – If you are planning to change the server with the same webhost then just make sure that you get the back-up for your data before transferring it as there have been times when customers have lost their data during transition for which nothing can be done later.

If you are not good at transferring data to the server you may hire a person who can do it for you.
