I need to change the httpd.conf file to get a script to work so i asked where it was on one of my rented severs and was given this as an answer:

/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf.

Ok thats good but i still cant find it how do i get to the strting point ie /usr/ folder ?

You won't be able to have access unless you have root access to the web server. If its a shared hosting server, your not going to have the permissions.

How did you solve this problem?

As root, you can do a "locate httpd.conf" to find the exact file for your apache.
