Is it possible to host IPB on here?

I signed up with 1gb.cc and I've tried to install my IPB forum on there but I've been unsuccessful at doing so. I uploaded the required files and I've got to the (install/index.php) installation screen but here's what I get (continue button is disabled):

Can someone please tell me what I've done wrong OR doesn't this hosting site support the correct PHP and MySQL?

If not, is there another free hosting alternative that will enable me to put my IPB online?

You have not done anything wrong, you just need to change the file permissions. If you have cPanel go to filemanger and select the files it tells you on that screenshot and set permissions to 777 or whateva it needs to be.

This can possibly be done with your FTP client depending on what it is.

Basically, as wantingawebsite said, the only problem that you have is that the files aren't chmoded correctly. Connect to your ftp, login with all your details, located the error files, right click them, drop down to something like change permissions or chmod, and then change the number to 777 for the files required.

yea change your file permission on those folders...

If your FTP manager doesnt let you change the permission, im sure what ever control panel you using have a file manager that you can use.

I'm using the Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro FTP program. In File > Operations > FTP Commands I can see CHMOD but it is disabled (along with the other commands). Do I have to upload the files first and then change the permissions?

Btw, thanks for your replies so far, you certainly cleared up a few things for me!

I am also having trouble upload a file called: conf_global.php.dist
as well as any of the .ttf (font) files.

Edit: I get up to the part where it asks me to enter the Install Directory for the forum. I've created one but it says that it doesn't exist. And yet, i can access it through the browser with the same address.
Help...anyone..please...

It should as though you could be entering the path wrong. It should be as such;

/PATH/

Do not include www or http:// or your domain name. Also do not include to direct path of the server (www/path/ or public_html/path/). Just the path.

If you need help, I'd be willing to help you install it (free of charge).

I tried that just before and I keep getting the same error: The specified directory does not exist.
It's as if the created directory is not detected. Does it have to be in the /forum/ directory or completely outside of it?

Edit:
The install address seems to be OK: http://elite91.1gb.cc/forum/
But each time I get the Install Directory 'wrong' it is replaced with:
/www/1gb.cc/e/l/i/elite91/htdocs/forum/

^ NO such path exists.

Perhaps I've uploaded the IPB files and folders the wrong way that's why i may be getting this error.

http://www.1gb.cc/ being a free web hosting provider may be preventing your install. They could be trying to add an AD script to your forum, which could cause problems.

Of course if YOU are 1gb.cc, then I would be sure your script is not ON for this account or double check your system wide settings.

My offer still stands though. I would be willing to help you install your forum free of charge.

Well, if you think that a script is blocking the install, then I might as well forget about 1gb.cc and look for other hosting.
What do you think?

I'm sorry I was not able to help you as I would have liked. My only 2 remaining guesses on this matter is either something within your config is not edited right or the free host has something preventing a proper install.

Should you feel the need to move to a more proper host. I would be more then willing to offer you a good deal on our accounts.

Or if you wish to switch to another free host, you can try http://www.8888mb.com .
