One of my sites is hosted by dreamhost . ALL dreamhost servers are down (including dreamhost.com and their web panel) .

One more dreamhost classic

all of their servers are down and there is no info when their servers will be up.

If you get cheap hosting , you will get cheap service (like dreamhost is doing)

yeap sure. i have a dedicated server at dreamhost 400$/month
this is the last straw. i ordered a server in a proper data center and the costs? 450$ for 150mb/s

They're back, sort of. And from reading the status site, I'd say you had a warning about what was happening. The power outage was planned, and except for one router, all went well. All in all, Dreamhost seems to have handled this quite well. And no, I have no connection to Dreamhost, and have never dealt with them.

Do you guys have ANY idea how much work it takes to maintain an operation like Dreamhost ?? Even a small NOC is a LOT of work, 24/7. With all that equipment, there is always SOMETHING going on. In reading their status page, it is pretty apparent that the power outage was completely out of their hands, it was a nasty problem with the building power - and if that repair had not been done, who knows what might have happened, servers might have been completely fried - more disastrous than being able to shut things down in a controlled manner as they did - and for only a few hours.

wow... so many unhappy customer here
anyone look for a new host??

Just for your information guys, dreamhost.com is up again but no idea how their servers are behaving.

Hope for the best be prepared for the worst. The fact that a datacenter is difficult too manage is no excuse. Do a search on webhostingtalk.com and you'll find ample reason to stay away from dreamhost.

If this was a single instance over a long period maybe customers could look the other way. But this is another in a series of persistent problems.
