Hi,

Im deciding on my hosting packages and am thinking of offering the following. I want to be extremely competitive but not be sooo low that people leave because they think its too good to be true. Im looking for the perfect middle ground that is really competitive and attractive but not scaringly low. I am thinking something like the following:

Money Saver
$3
1GB of Storage
5GB Bandwidth

Basic
$4
5GB of Storage
15GB Bandwidth

Standard
$6
10GB Storage
40GB Bandwidth

Deluxe
$7
20GB Storage
60GB Bandwidth

Ultimate
$15
100GB Storage
300GB Bandwidth

these all come with unlimited ftp, php, mysql, e-mail, etc and w/cPanel

What do you think?

Thanks,
The CodMan

Those are certainly some good deals. However, I think your prices on the smallest plans (Money Saver and Basic) are too close. I think you'll find that no one will go for the Money Saver when they can spend an extra dollar and get 5 times the storage.
I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to have it, it just might not be worth the hassle.

100GB Storage for $15 a month???

How big are the hard disks in your servers? Are you planning on people not using all their space?

I'd agree. Be very careful with these prices! You can NEVER offer 300Gb of transfer for $15/month (it would cost you between $300 and $900 if my figures aren't out of date).

Apart from that, I would say reduce the space for the plans a bit. I think that its a bit too high for people to think it's good quality. Reduce the space on the plans and they should look a bit more believeable.

I would seriously rethink your pricing setup because the average person will see that and think "These are to good to be true" and pass over them. This is not to mention the amount of profit or lack there of that offering those size packages for so little.

If I were you, I would just look around at what other people are offering and start from there. In general though, I would bet that if you kept the same prices, but halved the amount of space and bandwidth on each plan, you'd still have a good deal.
Also, it depends on how much profit you think you can make and, that, is entirely up to you.

K yea I would have to say that that is an impossible price. There is always a catch on something like this.
Have you tried signing you yet? Or at least read the User Agreement?

When I was searching for hosting and found deals like this, the catch was often that you have to pay for years in advance, not monthly.
Even if it lists monthly, thry still might charge in years.
Plus there is the the possiblity of you having to pay for users or somthing extra on the side.

And I can see another catch already. The Bandwidth sucks if you are planning on hiting it big. They almost force you to go with the more expensive plan.

Anothing. Don't let big Storage fool you. Often in user agreements they specify that you can't upload any mp3's, or warez or whatever. And they also say that you have to warn them before uploading any files over 25-50MB. And trust me that sucks.

Most places wont ever bust 200MB's without having some sorta file download center. And with an upload limit, it is difficult to start one.

But hey if it all checks out. Go ahead and get the best that you can afford.

If not I will recommend the host I use. www.fuitidnet.com
They have been around for awhile and give a good deal.

Wipeout, you posted a lot of good advice, but I think you might have misunderstood what he is asking (or maybe I am). I was under the impression that these are plans that he was going to offer , not what he was interested in buying.
