I have an account with host monster and have plenty of MB and SQL databases available.

If I choose to start an another site - like a forum, or whatever how do I best keep the scripts apart in the FTP folders? Obviously the new site would have a different domain name, but what else would I have to take into account.

When you create the addon domain the necessary directory will be created for you.

With all the control panels I have seen your addon domain goes into a subfolder of your site. In this example it would be /forum. All files for the second domain would be uploaded or installed to the /forum directory. A couple of the control panels will name that direcorty newdomain.com. Most just name it newdoamain.

You would have to try real hard to screw it up.

I suggest you let the auto installer create the directory and install the scripts for you.

Or you could get a reseller account and have an account for each domain which can be a lot easier then having to deal with the hassle of addon domains.

You must add antother domain name to your account.
(Addon Domains, Parked Domains).
With Addon domains - you host different domain names and different websites troguth 1 account.
Domain Parking - 1 websites with many different domain names ...

See that your hosting provider offer you the service multiple domain host, just register new domain and add it on your control panel ...

You will not need to spend more money for another shared hosting account !

Reseller Plans are used by a small hosting companies, web designer firms and big hosting clients (that use many websites, a lot of traffic and they want something better) ...
