I also want to mention that there are always pleased and displeased customers, but those who aren't satisfied tend to write to forums and those who are happy are less likely to write anything, at least шап they aren't asked to. So it's really easily to manipulate the image of the host.

And what makes you take their side.
FYI the domain original of nodaddy.com donated the domain free to the current owner because he was so displeased with godaddy.com. The new owner is the owner of seclists.org. Godaddy.com disabled his domain(users can post comments) because someone posted username passwords of myspace on that site. It was only a few hours and 52 seconds after trying to call seclists.org owner they disabled his domains. Anyone with an account can do that webmaster-talk.com too and it might take a few hours for a moderator to find it and delete it. If our forum was hosted with godaddy then that a very good way to bring this forum or any forum down.
You forget about familyalbum case where godaddy.com not only cancelled his domain (for a mistake in his email address) but also sold his very valuable domain to someone else.
My experience with godaddy.com
They are invovled in domain "kiting" and also their whois is leaked hxxp://www.icann.org/meetings/marrakech/captioning-dn-27jun06.htm
That means if you search for a domain on godaddy you better buy it within the next few minutes or else that search will be released to a "domain kiting" company(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_kiting) who will grab your domain. Infact we have reason to believe that godaddy.com has spawned these companies.
Also if your domain expires with(you forget to renew it) then it goes into a redemption period well over 3 months(maximum is 72 days). Then if you are loyal(and a fool) and you search on godaddy.com to see if the domain is available you will find it not available. If you search it on any other site you will find it available. I am saying this from first hand experience and my friends for whom i got back their domains(3)
So if you searched at godaddy.com the domain is n/a and then you obviously think you lost the domain if you are smart you see the whois and "find out" it is a domain kiting company(the names and their website reveal it). Then if you know how it works you know that they give the domain back after 5 days and again renew. But when you do a search at godaddy(upto six months) you find the domain unavailable, but infact the domain is very much available if you searched through other registrars. Godaddy.com has rigged their searches as they have a record of expired domains(that they were registrars of). I was a very loyal godaddy.com customer(a fool inother words) and i never knew the first time. It was out of fluke that i installed namecheap domain search on my firefox search bar and i found that my domain was available. Search on godaddy n/a on namecheap available and registered it immideatly with namecheap and got my domain and am still the owner of it. I am just lucky that namecheap is a reputed company because i had installed the namecheap search just for convinience never was planning to buy domains from them(back then godaddy did not have a search for firefox).
So think twice before supporting a company.
People are not crazy to open a website and waste their time.
Instead of respecting these people good intentions of informing others you mock them. And then you complain of the world not caring for anyone anymore.
Oh there are many more stories. They dont bother if you credit card company charges with a godaddy bill of 250$. No response at all. Then i just fought with credit card company and got it cancelled. (now i know since the cc company did not produce a bill it was my cc comapnies fault but godaddy should have atleast responded by saying that they can submit a letter or what should i be asking my credit card company to show me as proof, my cc company claimed that godaddy.com charged me but then reverted the charges back, but i had to pay 30$ service charges)
They just dont care if you have a problem of any kind. That is important.
A company should not be judged by how many customers are happy. It should be judged by how they help/support if you have a problem. godaddy.com sucks at that.
Oh sorry about the hosting..take a look at their plans their are clearly overselling their shared hosting. But i hear they virtual and dedicated servers are good.
Email hosting is very bad. They use lists from spamhous which end up banning ISP ip addresses and you dont recieve certain mail and you have request to unban it. Your customers dont like it even though their ISP is being used by spammer. You cant sit and explain that to them. They will just elsewhere as they cannot reach you by email.
But as you see for the above reason you should stay away from godaddy.com. If you have a forum or if someone complains against you they will bring you site down or even sell it.
Their support is very bad
